Darlington Village is an example of the close cooperation between the developer and the municipal zoning board that is a hallmark of the success of Rio Vista’s development efforts. The creative design approach utilized for this project was to provide maintenance free traditional single family housing to mature couples, while retaining the comfort and style of their prior and typically larger residences.
The Darlington Village phase of Rio Vista clusters 62 condominium homes on a 40 acre ridge, which preserved the dramatic views of the nearby Ramapo Mountains. The homes which ranged in size from 2,800 to 4,000 square feet were custom designed for individual purchasers with features such as Jacuzzi tubs, marble and fine hardwood floors, elevators, terraces, Anderson Windows, Budd Vacuum Systems, and security/music systems.
The project was financed through conventional financing and private equity.
